The Barrio Zorrilla Samba School has taken an important institutional step by signing a land-use agreement with AFE for a plot intended for its activities.
The agreement follows more than two years of efforts by the organization to secure a space of its own and continue growing.
Plans for its own rehearsal grounds
The school’s president, Vivan Benítez, highlighted the importance of the achievement and said the next goal is to submit a project to build rehearsal grounds of its own.
The new space is intended for rehearsals, school activities, and events open to the community.
Benítez also noted that the process moved forward more quickly thanks to the support of council member Gateasoro.
Looking ahead to Carnaval 2027
As it moves forward with this new project, Barrio Zorrilla is already planning its participation in Carnaval 2027.
Securing the land is an important step for the organization as it works to establish a permanent home for its activities and strengthen its ties with the community.
